Ladysmith, BC – The Town of Ladysmith will once again serve as a backdrop for the sci-fi mystery comedy television drama series Resident Alien, as filming for Season 4 is set to take place downtown from March 17 to March 19.
The majority of filming will occur along 1st Avenue, leading to intermittent road closures throughout the day and full closures in the evenings from March 17 to March 19. Both vehicular and pedestrian access will be impacted during these times.
Resident Alien, which stars Alan Tudyk, Sara Tomko, Meredith Garretson, Alice Wetterlund, and Corey Reynolds, is set in the fictional town of Patience, Colorado. As a result, banners displaying the words Patience, Colorado and American flags will be displayed along 1st Avenue. “We’re thrilled to welcome the talented cast and crew of Resident Alien to our beautiful town. We encourage all residents to extend a warm welcome, as their presence not only supports our local economy but helps showcase Ladysmith to the world,” says Acting Mayor, Tricia McKay.
Temporary parking restrictions will be in place throughout downtown from March 14 to March 19. Public parking lots at 17/25 Roberts Street, 24 Gatacre Street, and 117 Gatacre Street will be unavailable during filming. Street parking will also be limited on 1st Avenue, 2nd Avenue, Roberts Street, High Street, Gatacre Street, and the lane connecting Gatacre Street to High Street. “The Town of Ladysmith appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this exciting opportunity to showcase our town on the big screen once again,” says Nicholas Pescod, the Town’s Communications & Engagement Specialist.
