Downtown Building Facades

The ongoing preservation of the heritage character of downtown Ladysmith means that business owners and property owners must make sure that any changes to the exterior of commercial and multi-family residential properties in the 'Downtown Specified Area' are approved through the sign permit and/or development permit process before work takes place. The following changes to a downtown building requires consultation with Development Services staff: paint colour, signage, canopies, windows, trim, architectural details and storefront details.
