Town distances itself from social media comments made by Councillor Stevens

Ladysmith, BC — The Town of Ladysmith is formally distancing itself from comments made on social media by a member of Council.

On January 24, Councillor Marsh Stevens made a series of comments in a Facebook post regarding candidates running in the upcoming by-election.

Following consultation from the Town's lawyer, Councillor Stevens' comments are in violation of the Code of Conduct Policy 01-0530-B, which was adopted by Council in 2021.

The comments made by Councillor Stevens do not reflect the views of Council or the Town of Ladysmith.

The Town of Ladysmith will not be commenting any further on the matter.
