BC Transit service disruption in Ladysmith

Ladysmith, BC — BC Transit has suspended service on the following routes in Ladysmith due to ongoing job action by Unifor locals 114 & 333 (operating under Transdev Canada).

As a result, there will be no service on Routes 31, 34 or 36 in Ladysmith until further notice.

The Nanaimo Cowichan Express (NCX) remains unaffected and is running as usual. However, there is no local fixed-route service beyond the NCX drop off locations, and no ability to travel to and from Victoria.

The handyDART service will continue to operate for essential trips, including appointments for renal dialysis, cancer treatment, and multiple sclerosis. All other pre-booked trips will be cancelled, and affected riders will be notified.

The Town encourages transit users to visit BC Transit's website, https://www.bctransit.com/cowichan-valleyor follow them on social media for the latest updates.
