Alternative Approval Process underway for new City Hall

Ladysmith, June 4, 2024 - The Town of Ladysmith has begun the Alternative Approval Process (AAP) for a new City Hall. The new City Hall building includes purpose-built housing for middle-income renters, addressing a vital need in Ladysmith.

Key Points about the Project:

  • The new City Hall building will be a fully accessible one-stop shop for residents.
  • 80 to 90 planned rental units aimed at middle income earners.
  •  At least 20% of rental units will be 20% below market rate.
  • Approximate average future residential property tax increase is $7.17 per $100,000 of residential assessment.
  • Funded through asset renewal.
