Council forming new committee to guide accessibility

Are you interested in making Ladysmith a more accessible community? If so, Ladysmith Council is inviting you to apply for an exciting opportunity to be part of a newly formed committee.

The Town’s Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) has six vacancies, each for a two-year term, ending September 30, 2025.

The goal of this committee is to assist the Town in identifying barriers to individuals both within the organization, or those who are interacting with it, and to advise the organization on how to remove and prevent these barriers.

Council will appoint members-at-large to the AAC based on their experience and involvement related to accessibility.

Wondering about the time commitments? The committee will meet twice annually and additional meetings may be held at the request of Council.

If this committee seems like a good fit for you, applications can be dropped off at City Hall or emailed to cs@ladysmith.ca until August 30, 2023.

The Terms of References and application form is available:
