UPDATE: Closure of a Portion of Heart Lake Loop Trail Extended to September 9

The closure of the Chicken Ladder access road and Heart Lake Loop Trail is being extended another week until Friday, September 9, 2022. We have increased the scope of the project and are aiming to get the work completed before the end of the fish window on September 15, 2022.

The trail runs along the section of road where the construction will take place.  See the corresponding map for details.

The work will involve removal and replacement of a pair of culverts on the Chicken Ladder Water Intake Access Road and construction must be completed within the fish window which ends September 15.

In order to ensure the safety of the public and our crews, a portion of the trail must be closed during construction as there is not enough room to create a safe alternate route or detour around the construction site.

The area will be cordoned off and the public is asked to respect the closure for your own safety.  We apologize for any inconvenience.
