The Town of Ladysmith is launching an exciting public engagement opportunity for residents to participate in planning the future of Kinsmen Park.
The feedback you provide through a brief survey – it takes less than 3 minutes to complete - will form the next steps as we create a Kinsmen Park Implementation Plan.
The neighbourhood park located on Colonia Drive at Brown Drive, popularized by its wide-open green space, forested area and playground, is a place where community meets.
The addition of the Recreational Bike Trails and the Storybook Walk in recent years has added to the distinct sense of place you feel when at the park.
Through the survey, the Town is interested in learning what amenities you currently enjoy the most at Kinsmen Park and what we can improve upon to make it even better in the future.
We’re also hoping you can rank five emerging themes (Natural Environment, Sustainability, Education and Play, Celebrate Culture, Connectivity) that will help form next steps in the public engagement process, including where we should focus our strategy, process, and action items. Watch for more details in the coming weeks on an in-person event at the park!
Why is the Town creating the Kinsmen Park Implementation Plan now?
A park plan is used to define a park’s current amenities as well as the potential improvements that are needed now, and in the future. It reflects the needs as identified by the current users of the park – that’s you!
Following the completion of the new plan, the document will be presented to the Parks, Recreation & Culture Advisory Committee for endorsement and then to Ladysmith Council for adoption.
