Town moves to Stage 1 water restrictions

Ladysmith, BC – The Town of Ladysmith has moved to Stage 1 water restrictions effective October 7.

Under Stage 1, lawn sprinkling is permitted for 2 hours per designated day (Wednesdays and Saturdays for even-numbered addresses and Thursdays and Sundays for odd-numbered addresses).

Outdoor watering is prohibited between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Watering during the evening, night, or early morning helps minimize water waste caused by evaporation and balances peak water usage.

Restrictions on filling hot tubs and washing vehicles, boats, driveways, houses and sidewalks are no longer in place.

The Town had moved to Stage 2 water restrictions on September 27 following successful water conservation efforts over the summer.

For a complete list on what is permitted under Stage 1, please visit https://www.ladysmith.ca/our-services/water.

The Town of Ladysmith respectfully acknowledges that we gather and work on the unceded territory of the Stz'uminus First Nation, the traditional keepers of this land.
