Holland Creek Trail Open

The section of the Holland Creek Trail between the RCMP detachment and Colonia Drive, which was closed earlier this week, has been re-opened.

Monday, February 24

A section of the Holland Creek Trail is closed beginning Monday until end of day on Wednesday as part of the final stages of a water main relocation project and necessary trail maintenance.

Signage has been posted on the trail notifying the public of the closure between the RCMP detachment until before the Colonia Drive entrance.  

The Mackie Road trailhead and parking lot also remain closed.

During this three-day closure the Town and its contractor are connecting a new water main to our existing water distribution system.

The project has been ongoing since late November and nearing completion following the installation of over 400 metres of new pipe along the upper trail between Mackie Road and Colonia Road.

On Wednesday, the Town will also be removing several trees near the trail that have recently been identified as hazardous.
