Mayor and Council
The Town of Ladysmith is governed by an elected Council made up of a Mayor and six Councillors. Elections are held every three years for all municipalities in British Columbia.
Town Advisory Committee Meetings
Council annually appoints community members to participate on various Town Commissions, including Parks, Recreation & Culture; Heritage Revitalization Advisory; Advisory Planning and Economic Development.
Council delegates administrative responsibility to the City Manager who oversees the Town's operations. There are five departments in the Town of Ladysmith -- Corporate Services, Financial Services, Development Services, Infrastructure Services and Parks, Recreation & Culture.
Careers & Volunteering
The Town of Ladysmith offers the charm of a small town community with modern amenities in a heritage seaside setting. There are opportunities to work and to volunteer in our organization.
From time to time, the Town of Ladysmith issues tenders or requests for proposals to deliver a variety of goods and services.
Funding & Grants
Once a year, Council provides funding known as 'grants in aid' to not-for-profit societies to help with the costs of social, cultural, recreational, special events in the Town of Ladysmith.

The Freedom of Information/Protection of Privacy legislation is administered through the Corporate Services Department.
Local government elections are the third Saturday in November every three years. The next election will be held in 2014.
